  end of the semester with the last film.  Professor Kodolányi will be meeti
 ng us for an informal discussion at Everybody’s from 7-9pm.  \n\nGyula Kodo
 lányi:\nSenior Visiting Scholar in the Department of Russian and East Asian
  Languages and Cultures from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences \nGyula Kodo
 lányi is the author of several collections of poetry\, essays and translati
 ons. His first collection of poetry\, The Sea and the Wind Endlessly\, publ
 ished in 1981\, was awarded the Mikes Kelemen Prize for best book of the ye
 ar by Hungarian writers in exile. \nKodolányi has played a significant role
  in Hungarian politics since the late 1970s. As a poet and professor of Eng
 lish and American literature\, he was drawn at that time into the growing H
 ungarian opposition. He was a founding member of the Hungarian Democratic F
 orum (MDF) in 1987\, which won parliamentary elections three years later an
 d formed Hungary’s first democratic government since 1948. He served as Sen
 ior Foreign Policy Advisor to Prime Ministers József Antall and Péter Boros
 s in 1990-94\, on U.S. and European relations\, with a special focus on NAT
 O integration. Since that time\, he has continued both his political and hi
 s poetic activities\, advising former Hungarian President Ferenc Mádl\, and
  editing a political and intellectual bimonthly\, Magyar Szemle in Budapest
 .\n\nI want to thank him and Emory University for allowing us to attend his
