Lets have one more Gulyas day! December is always a busy month for everyone, but we will make an attempt to schedule a meet up and get together one more time this year. Although the time and location is not the most convenient for a lot of members, schedule is also limited this month, I will still schedule this meet up and hope that you will be able to make it and join us. Puccio's New York Deli is a very cozy place, the food is excellent and the staff is Hungarian.
So come and join us for Gulyas and conversation. Hope to see as many of you as possible!

Since I could not find a Magyar restaurant, I though its October and we should be celebrating Oktoberfest with some Nemet Food and Great Beer at the Doener Bistro aka Hamburg Doner...
Beer selection is incredible; service is terrific. Food menu, though limited is authentic and takes me back to my travels of Germany. One of the best in Northern Virginia for a low key atmosphere.
So come along, bring a friend and quench your thirst with the flavor of Oktoberfest.

Lets get together and keep our Meet Up Group going. Weather you speak Hungarian or not, would like to meet as many of you as possible. The picnic is free but your tax-deductible contribution is welcome.. Suggested donations: $5 per person. Directions to the picnic:
By car:
from the Beltway go South on MD 185 (Connecticut Ave)
proceed South, past Chevy Chase circle
pass Albemarle Street
make a left onto Tilden Street
make a right at Linnean Ave (Spring of Freedom Street), the park is at the end of the loop (next to the Hungarian Embassy). By metro:
take the Red Line metro to the Van Ness - UDC station
after exiting the Red Line Van Ness - UDC station, the escalators lead up to Connecticut Avenue
head South towards downtown on Connecticut
pass Van Ness Street and traffic light
at the next traffic light turn left on to Tilden Street head all the way down on Tilden, but before you come across a little bridge and traffic light, turn right (to your left you will see The Rock Creek Gallery and the Pierce Mill, to your right you will find the Hungarian Embassy, the picnic area is across from it)

We have delayed the celebration until Nov 2 due to conflicts on the 26th of October, direction from dc, via Md go west from beltway(495) VIA interstate 270/70 to Hancock Md. (ca.90MILES) then south Rt 522 through Berkeley Springs WV. about 9 miles out of town ( just pased a trailer park) left turn on to mt tabor road about 1 - 2 miles to Hungaria Ave on left, entrance to magyar development (Mt. tabor Hungarian Park)proceed about 1 miles to Alba Regia Hungarian Memorial park/ chapel for service and celebration please RSVP e-mail tgydes@aol.com will have meal after service with palacsinta $15 ,drinks extra. hope to see you there short service & memorial for 56' 50th anniversary prayer for Nagy Imre and those that made the supreme sacrifice 50 years ago. All are Welcome lets car pool if you need a ride or can offer a ride please send e-mail to tamas. lets have a good turn out last event for year @ mt. tabor. The cript will be open for relatives and friends during the memorial.
